FOB SWATH 9 was delivered on 16 February 2021 from Oma Baatbyggeri AS, to Offshore Windservice A/S in Denmark.
The vessel is a Crew Transfer Vessel, specialised for transporting service personnel to and from offshore installations catering to the Wind and Oil & Gas Industry and is designed in close cooperation with main owner – Odfjell Wind AS in Bergen.
One of the key features of FOB SWAHT 9 is that it can operate in Catamaran mode or in SWATH mode (Small Waterline Area Twin Hull) and is designed to give the crew optimal comfort and safety during transfer.
In catamaran mode the vessel can move at high speed, whilst pitch, roll and slamming is reduced because of the distance from the water level to the water deck and with the four foils and interceptors.
In SWATH mode the vessel is in semi-submerged position. In this mode movements are considerably reduced allowing the vessels to stay at the site for longer periods.
This latest specialised catamaran is assigned the shipyard`s yard no. 544.
