Oma’s Bnr. 546 M/S «Børtind» delivered to Torghatten Nord AS

Oma Baatbyggeri AS, on Stord, delivered its building number 546 M/S «Børtind» to Torghatten Nord AS on Friday 26 June.

Oma Baatbyggeri AS and Torghatten Nord AS signed the contract for the 29.2 meter long passenger catamarans in June 2019.

The boat, which has a capacity of 147 passengers and service speed of 32 knots, is to be used in connection with a speedboat connection that Torghatten Nord AS serves in Nordland.

The boat type is a further development of the renowned Oma Passenger catamarans, which the shipyard has delivered many to various Norwegian shipping companies. The vessel is equipped with 4 MTU main engines. These are connected to 4 water jet systems which give the passenger a pleasant travel experience.

The universal design combined with very good sea features ensures the comfort of the passengers. Furthermore, it has been very well arranged so that passengers with disabilities can travel as easily as possible on board.

This is the second vessel that Oma Baatbyggeri delivers in 2020. In March, M/S Fjordjarl, a 40 meter passenger catamaran with a capacity of 296 passengers, was delivered to Norled for the Harstad – Tromsø connection.

Going forward production has started on the second windmill vessel for Offshore Windservice AS in Denmark. This vessel will be delivered by the end of 2020. In addition, we will start after the holidays with production on the third vessel in this series to be delivered in the autumn of 2021.
